Travertine is a type of limestone which comes into being by mineral deposits from natural springs. This sedimentary stone is formed by a rapid precipitation of calcium carbonate, known as calcite. Other minerals mix together with the calcite to create unique swirls and movement that give travertine its distinctive character. Like granite or marble, it could be fabricated as countertop in the kitchen or bathroom. Travertine is characterized by its holes inside, which makes it weaker than other natural stone. For that, we need to do better back net to protect whole slab from breaking during fabrication or shipment. Therefore, the total fabrication cost would be higher comparatively, which, however, doesn't hinder designer to apply it in many construction areas and enjoy its beauty and elegance.
